Export a timestamped GPX

If you have a choice, use GPX. A proper track gives ClearSpot Travel the actual GPS positions and the time attached to them.

Elevation improves the 3D result when it is present, but it is not required for basic playback.

From Strava

1. Open Strava on the web. strava.com
2. Open your activity.
3. Open the More / ellipsis (...) menu.
4. Choose Export GPX.
5. Upload the .gpx file to ClearSpot Travel.

Strava says the exported GPX for your own GPS activity includes coordinates and timestamps.

Import my GPX

From another app

Look for an action named Export GPX, Download GPX or Share as GPX in the app that recorded the trip. Use the original recorded track rather than a planned route when possible: planned routes often have geometry but no timestamps.

Check that the GPX contains time

A GPX route can contain coordinates without timestamps. ClearSpot Travel needs time on the points to replay the trip; files with no usable timestamps are rejected.

The time value is what lets ClearSpot Travel place that point in the trip timeline.

Several GPX files?

You can upload an unencrypted ZIP that contains several supported files. ClearSpot Travel merges them into one trip.
